The weekly loop

1. Mark who's out

   Attendance is opt-out. Everyone is assumed to be playing, so you only touch the names of the people who told you they can not make it.

2. Deal the courts

   Whoever's left gets dealt onto courts of five, some of four when the numbers don't split evenly, in ladder order, automatically.

3. Print the sheet and the scorecards

   The court sheet goes out to your group. Each court gets a round-robin scorecard to play from.

4. Enter finishing places

   After the games, tap in first through fifth on each court, straight off the scorecard.

   1. Game 1: 1 & 2 vs 3 & 4
   2. Game 2: 4 & 5 vs 2 & 3
   3. Game 3: 3 & 5 vs 1 & 4
   4. Game 4: 2 & 4 vs 1 & 5
   5. Game 5: 1 & 3 vs 2 & 5

5. Review the proposed ladder

   The tool works out how the ladder should move based on who finished where, and lays out every rung, not just a list of who moved.

6. Apply it, or don’t

   Nothing changes until you tap Apply. Close the tab instead and the ladder is exactly where it was.

A substitute who fills in for someone, a no-show who was on the sheet but never turned up, a walk-in who wasn't on the sheet at all: each one has its own place in the results without you re-typing the night from scratch.
